Buddha Nut

The Buddha Nut (Pterygota alata), also known as the ‘Buddha Coconut’ or Kasah, are a naturally occurring pod found in East Asia. The split along the sides happen naturally when the pod ripens, allowing seeds to be released. The exterior, once dried, resembles a dense bark with properties that help it withstand humid environments, creating a long-lasting and natural decoration.

Buddha Nuts provide a natural visual interest within a tank, but can also be used for various functional purposes within your bioactive terrarium or aquarium such as:

  • Deposit site for dart frog tadpoles/water holes
  • Food dishes
  • Naturalistic hide for small invertebrates, amphibians and geckos, etc.

Due to the nature of this product, there will be variation in shape and colour.
