Cuttle Bone

Cuttle bone is a naturally occurring, hard structure found within the bodies of cuttlefish. 

These bones are rich in calcium (up to 40% of each bone’s weight!) and consist of calcium carbonate, zinc, potassium and iron, alongside many other vital minerals. Cuttle bone has a wide variety of uses, such as;

• Supplement, beak trimming and enrichment for birds, tortoises, etc…
• Broken up into pieces, provide a valuable source of calcium and other minerals to isopods. This is vital for growth of their exteriors and healthy sheds. 

Because this is a natural product, the sizes range from 3″ – 5″ and will vary in colour and shape. They are fragile and easily broken, but pieces are just as useful as whole cuttle bones.
