Mini Monkey Pot

The Monkey Pot originates from the Lecythis elliptica, a large nut-producing tree found in the Amazonian forests. This species is closely related to the tree that produces the Ourico Pods!

The term “Monkey Pot” is said to derive from a monkey baiting technique where the empty nut is filled with fruit; a monkey would be able to insert its paw but unable to remove it.

These pots are the smaller version of our NewCal Monkey Pots!

Monkey Pots provide a natural visual interest within a tank, but they can also be used for various functional purposes within your bioactive terrarium or aquarium such as:

• Deposit site for dart frog tadpoles/water holes
• Food dishes
• Naturalistic hides

The Monkey Pots averages 4-7cm in diameter. However, due to the nature of this product there will be natural variation in size and color of each pot.
